2025 in Review

As the Dehorter lab enters into 2026, we can use this opportunity to reflect on all the events and achievements of 2025 that helped us get to where we are now, and that this writer didn't get the chance to post about at the time.
So here is a very brief summary of some of the milestones of 2025.

JANUARY
Honours students, Anna, Hiral, and Sara start in the lab (pictured)
Preprint on memory impairment in Autism Spectrum Disorder available
FEBRUARY
Nathalie runs a workshop at the Australasian Course in Advanced Neuroscience (ACAN) in Sydney
The Dehorter lab have a lab retreat on Stradbroke Island (pictured)
We sadly say goodbye to long-term team member, Noorya


MARCH
Continued public outreach and lab tours for different communities and non-for-profit organisations (pictured)
Will attends the Monash graduation ceremony to celebrate his PhD conferral

MAY
Sara and Will place second at UQ’s Great Court Race
Yuanlu submits her honours (pictured)
We farewell Gabriela as she starts a Group Leader position at the University of Tasmania
Becky panels at QBI’s Rising Star Researcher event with the Moreton Club
Collaboration on NTT4 Glutamine Transporter is published
JUNE
Margaux starts her postdoctoral position in the lab
Nathalie and Becky attend QBI Brain Research Endowment Fund
We are treated to puppy cuddles through Paws & Relax (pictured)
Yash submits his honours
C presents at the John Curtin School of Research's student conference
Collaborative work on the role of free fatty acids in synaptic plasticity is published

JULY
Sara, Margaux, Will, and Becky volunteer at QBI's Brain Bee event for aspiring young neuroscientists
Nathalie attends the GRC conference (pictured)
Aleksander starts his undergraduate project


SEPTEMBER
Molly starts her masters exchange program
Sara and Becky represent QBI at the Bridge to Brisbane race (pictured)

OCTOBER &
NOVEMBER
Sara, Hiral, and Anna submit their honours projects
Alex submits undergrad project
Nab submits his PhD thesis
C submits her masters thesis

DECEMBER
Sara, Hiral, Nathalie, Shaam, and Margaux attend the 2025 ANS conference (pictured)
Will's 3rd PhD chapter is published
