Ilvana has recently joined Dehorter’s group as lab manager. She completed her PhD in 2019. Her research added to the understanding of how early life environmental challenges affect developmental programming of neuronal and metabolic systems, with a focus on ghrelin and leptin, two metabolic hormones with great importance in the developmental origins of adult diseases. This work resulted in 14 publications (4 first author) (202 cites in the past 5 years (~40.4/year); h-index 9 (Google Scholar)) and 6 awards, including national travel awards, an award for highest Honours GPA grade and success in obtaining the competitive APA scholarship.
